Although the hammock has been battered by the wind and the waves, it was once the perfect oasis in which to spend a quiet afternoon embraced by the ocean and the warm breeze.

Solitude in retirement is a beautiful but challenging assignment I am finding! I was so used to the go, go, go world and now I’m adjusting to accepting the solitude. I love this picture and the meaning it brings on how beauty can be found in solitude!
Thank you for your comment and insight. I am six months into my retirement and I have to say that I am enjoying all the solitude I can get (which can be a challenge since my husband is retired also).
